Di Gu Pi (Wolfberry Bark): Has the efficacy of cooling blood and relieving bone-steaming, and clearing the lungs to direct fire downward. It is primarily used for Yin deficiency hot flashes, bone-steaming night sweats, lung-heat cough, coughing blood, epistaxis, and internal heat wasting-thirst.

《纲目》刀豆，《本草》失载，惟近时小书载其暖而补元阳也。又有人病后呃逆不止，声闻邻家，或令取刀豆子烧存性，白汤调服二钱，即止。此亦取其下气归元而逆自止也。......温中下气，利肠胃，止呃逆，益肾补元。《滇南本草》：健脾。《中药材手册》：补肾，散寒，下气，利肠胃，止呕吐。治肾气虚损，肠胃不和，呕逆，腹胀，吐泻。《四川中药志》：治胸中痞满及腹痛，疗肾气不归元及痢疾。
